A transparent background lets the same subject move between a presentation, a product listing and your next design. Switch the preview surface to check the cutout before using it elsewhere.
Upload JPG, PNG, WebP or BMP up to 3 MB. The tool separates the subject from its surroundings. Keep the background transparent and use the erase or restore brush if part of the result needs attention.
Some image viewers place transparent pixels on white. Try the downloaded PNG over a dark or colored background to check its transparency. A PNG with a white backdrop baked into its pixels still needs background removal.
A reusable cutout needs transparency, not a picture of a checkerboard. In the sneaker example, inspect the laces, the gap around the shoe and the outline of the sole before placing the PNG in another design.

Export a transparent PNG for reuse. Adding a solid background creates a different output choice; “PNG” alone does not mean its background is transparent.

A transparent image stores an alpha value for each pixel. Fully transparent pixels let another background show through; partly transparent pixels keep soft edges. The checkerboard is only a viewer aid—it is not saved into the cutout.
PNG can retain an alpha channel. JPG cannot, so a transparent cutout saved as JPG needs a solid color behind it. A PNG filename alone does not prove transparency if the white background is already baked into its pixels.
Move a logo between layouts, place a product over different campaign colors, or use a portrait on a team page. Test the exact edge against the final design rather than trusting a single preview.
